The flower snake, also known as the bungar snake, is a venomous snake common in southern China. The body length of adult flower snakes is generally about 1 meter, and the longest can reach 2 meters. The head is flat and the eyes are large, oval-shaped with vertical pupils.
The body color is mostly light yellow with black spots or rings, hence the name "bungaur". Its toxicity is average. Symptoms such as pain, swelling, and ecchymosis often occur after the bite. In rare cases, it can cause poisoning or even death. The flower snake mainly feeds on small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, and is a typical nocturnal snake. Because of its beautiful appearance, it is often kept as an ornamental animal, but it must be treated with caution to avoid being accidentally bitten.
