Dog ear scabies is a parasite that causes dogs to scratch desperately, causing extremely intense itching in the outer and inner ear canals.

Contact transmission is the main cause of infection.

Diagnostic criteria for Dog Ear Scabies
1, Pour a small amount of mineral oil into the dog's ear, and then let the dog gently flick the ear, and then put the sample under a microscope for examination.
2. You can go to the pet hospital and ask the pet doctor to use the otoscope to confirm the diagnosis. Put the otoscope directly into the ear canal for examination, and you can find very small and white translucent worms moving.
Dog Ear Scabies Treatment
The ear canal needs to be cleaned with pet ear wash to remove secretions before using external medicine for the external ear canal. Acarexx (containing ivermectin) and Milbemite (containing moxidectin) are effective one-time topical agents. Tresaderm (containing thiabendazole) can be used to kill ear mites and eggs. The course of treatment takes 10-14 days. It can also treat most bacterial and fungal infections. Topical medicines for the back of the neck such as Revolution Great Pet (containing selamectin and seractin) and Advantage multi/Advocate Scabies (containing moxidectin) are very effective once a month topical medicines for ear mites, which are applied to the back of the neck. Pets usually require one or two treatments. Some doctors use it every two weeks while treating ear mites. Injection drug can be Ivermectin ivermectin, subcutaneous injection 300 μg /kg (ug/kg), every 1 to 2 weeks, 4 times a course of treatment. Not to be used on Collies, Shetland, their mixed breeds, or other sheepdog breeds. For pets under 6 months of age, use only when necessary.
