Bronchopneumonia In Dogs:Causes, Treatment, and Related Symptoms

Dog Medicine
Overview
There are acute and chronic bronchopneumonia, and its clinical symptoms range from mild to severe, varying degrees of life-threatening.

Causes of Bronchopneumonia In Dogs

Bronchopneumonia is a disease caused by the secondary invasion of primary pathogenic bacteria or a variety of infectious bacteria, or the inhalation of respiratory, toxic or irritating substances. Bronchial porphyrite refers to the inflammation caused by infection of the bronchus and lung parenchyma. Bronchoconstriction, alveolar edema cause a loss of exchange in the dog's lungs, and hypoxemia causes breathing difficulties that cause the body to require a large supply of oxygen.

Diagnostic Criteria For Bronchopneumonia In Dogs

Bronchopneumonia In Dogs treatment

Ensure that the trachea is unblocked, and oxygen must be administered in cases of severe respiratory illness.

General nursing should ensure that the environment is warm and moist, avoid the sick animals from feeling uncomfortable, clean nasal fluid and secretions regularly, and ensure that the sick dogs have enough water supply. Infusion is an important way to ensure adequate water supply, and the premise of adequate water supply is to maintain mucosal function and secretion can be removed in time. But avoid getting too much water.

The disease should be treated with high-dose antibiotics at the beginning. Ampicillin, highly effective sulfonamides, cephalosporins and gentamicin can be used until the results of bacterial culture and susceptibility testing are available.
