There are no urban gray parrots open to the public. Gray parrots have been upgraded to Appendix I of the CITES Convention, which is equivalent to a national first-level protected animal. It is illegal to raise African gray parrots in my country without a permit from the Forestry Administration.
Currently, the global population of gray parrots is roughly estimated at 12.7 million. This species has been considered to have a decline in the overall population, and the survival of the species is at the critical value standard of vulnerable and endangered (distribution area or fluctuation range is less than 20,000 square kilometers, habitat quality, population size, distribution area fragmentation), mainly wild African gray parrots every year Captured and traded in large quantities in international trade. Rapid habitat loss also has significant impacts on the species, particularly throughout West and East Africa. These reasons are all responsible for the rapid decline of this species.
