Vomiting and diarrhea in dogs are generally symptoms of acute gastroenteritis, which may be caused by improper diet, bacterial infection, viral infection, poisoning or internal parasite infection. In order to avoid dehydration caused by prolonged vomiting and diarrhea in dogs, it is recommended to take it to the pet hospital for examination in time to determine the specific cause and then treat it with symptomatic medication. If symptoms caused by poisoning are ruled out, the dog usually needs to be treated with anti-inflammatory drugs, antidiarrheal drugs, and antiemetics, and the dog also needs to be given an infusion to replenish body fluids.
If the symptoms are caused by viral infection, interferon and other supportive therapies are also needed. If the symptoms are caused by parasitic infection, after the dog’s symptoms are relieved, anthelmintics need to be used in time to prevent the parasites from continuing to damage the intestinal wall. If the dog suffers from vomiting and diarrhea caused by poisoning, it is necessary to induce vomiting and gastric lavage in time, and then treat the dog with liver-protecting drugs.
