The appearance of an American Curl cat depends on whether its ears are curled back and whether the ear tips are rounded, but the ears of newborn Curl cats are straight. Curl-eared cats have walnut-shaped eyes, a slightly longer body, and longer legs and tail.
It is a medium-sized cat. The head is somewhat oval-shaped, without a nose, and extends from the bottom of the eyes to the forehead. Moreover, both the long-haired and short-haired varieties of American Curl cats have soft, silky coats with very little undercoat. The short-haired varieties have elastic texture without a dense feel.
