In 2012, a dead great white shark was found floating in formaldehyde at a closed and abandoned wildlife park in Melbourne, Australia.
According to VICE, the shark was caught off the coast of South Australia in 1998. It was then preserved for display at a Victorian ecotourism centre, and when that facility closed, the shark was relocated to a wildlife park that was said to be "dedicated to the conservation of megafauna." However, the site was eventually closed in 2012, and the creatures were gradually forgotten, until now.
