1. Dog owners must register with their real names. Each household can keep a maximum of one large dog and each household can keep a maximum of two small dogs.
2. Dog breeds that are prohibited from being kept in urban areas include Tibetan mastiffs, bulldogs, Doberman pinschers, Rottweilers, Japanese Okinawa dogs, pugs and other dog breeds.
3. It is prohibited to let dogs in parks, squares, green spaces and other public places. Dogs must be leashed and must use leashes and muzzles.
4. Dog owners are prohibited from bringing dogs into public transportation and places such as docks, airports, train stations, etc. without authorization.
5. Dog owners should regularly carry out immunization, deworming and other epidemic prevention measures on their dogs, and at the same time keep the environment clean and hygienic.
6. Dog owners should abide by relevant laws and regulations and must not let dogs infringe on the personal and property safety of others, otherwise they will bear corresponding legal liabilities.
The above provisions are still in the draft form for comments and have not yet been officially implemented. It is expected that the regulations will be officially implemented in 2023. By then, Beijing citizens must manage and regulate dog-raising behavior in accordance with the new regulations.
