The breeding period of lark is from May to July. They nest on the ground at the base of grass and lay 4 to 5 eggs in each clutch. The eggs are light brown or nearly white, densely dotted with fine brown spots. It usually takes 15 days to incubate.
The lark is distributed in North China, Inner Mongolia, Hebei and Qinghai in my country. It lives in grasslands and fields near water and likes to move in groups. It is a ground-dwelling bird and does not live in trees. It mainly eats cereals and seeds of wild plants, and also eats a small amount of insects, such as manganese, locusts, etc. Larks often make nests in pits under grass or in depressions on the open ground, built by weeds.
