For the situation where the puppy's eyes are watery and have heavy tear stains, the owner needs to first identify the cause of the puppy's heavy tear stains, and then take targeted measures. First of all, if it is caused by the puppy breed, then you only need to wipe the tear stains away in time. Secondly, if it is caused by too salty food, then while cleaning the tear stains every day, you should also improve the dog's diet and feed the dog some light and low-salt food. Finally, if it is caused by eye disease or blocked nasolacrimal duct, you need to go to the pet hospital for treatment in time.

1. Clean in time

Dogs of breeds such as Teddy, Bichon Frize, and Pomeranian are prone to tear stains because they naturally have more eye secretions. Therefore, in order to prevent excessive tear stains, owners need to use wet wipes to clean the puppy's tear stains every day during the feeding process.

2. Improve diet

If the food your dog eats contains too much oil and salt, it will also cause heavy tear stains. Therefore, owners should pay attention to a light diet, avoid feeding their dogs food that is too salty, too sweet, or greasy, and pay attention to replenishing their dogs with water so that they can drink more water.

3. Use drugs or surgery

If the dog suffers from eye diseases, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, entropion, etc., the dog will be affected by inflammation. Will shed tears frequently, resulting in severe tear stains. In addition, if the owner does not clean the dog's eye secretions for a long time, causing the nasolacrimal duct to be blocked, it will also cause serious tear stains. At this time, the general treatment methods are useless. You can only take the dog to the pet hospital for a comprehensive examination to diagnose the cause, and then you can use targeted drugs or consider surgical treatment.
