Red lines in the eyes of puppies may be caused by the dilation of capillaries on the surface of the eyeball, or may be caused by eye diseases or eye nematode infection. It is recommended that the owner pay attention to observation. If the puppy does not show other abnormalities, it may be normal telangiectasia, and the owner does not need to worry too much. However, if the puppy still sheds tears or has increased eye secretions, it should be taken seriously. It is recommended that the owner seek medical treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition.

1. Telangiectasia

When the capillaries in a puppy's eyes expand, red lines will appear in the eyes, which is generally seen in small dogs such as Pomeranians and Teddy dogs. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. As long as the dog does not have any other abnormalities, the owner does not need to worry. Just keep the dog's eyes clean and hygienic.

2. Suffering from eye diseases

If the puppy suffers from eye diseases such as conjunctivitis and keratitis, due to the influence of inflammation, there will also be a large amount of bacteria in the dog’s eyes. Red thread-like blood streaks appear, accompanied by tearing, increased eye secretions, and itching. Owners can pay attention to observation. If they find that their dogs have the above conditions, they are likely to have eye diseases and need to consult a pet doctor for medication in time.

3. Eye nematode infection

After a puppy is infected with ocular nematode, red lines will appear in the eyes, which will also be accompanied by tearing, photophobia, flushed eyes, and cornea turbidity. and other symptoms. If the disease reaches the later stages, the owner can clearly see strip-shaped white worms in the dog's eyes. Therefore, it is recommended that owners take their dogs to the pet hospital for further treatment and treatment once they discover the above abnormalities.
