Scabs and hard lumps on cats’ skin may be caused by excessive cleaning, traumatic infection, mosquito bites, parasitic infection, etc. First of all, if it is excessive cleaning, then crusting and hard lumps are a normal physiological phenomenon, and generally there is no need to worry too much. Secondly, if there are abnormal scabs and hard lumps accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, such as skin redness, swelling, pain, etc., it is recommended that the owner take the cat to a regular pet hospital for treatment in time to find out the cause and further treatment.

1. Excessive washing

If the skin is itchy, the skin will be scratched particularly hard. If the skin is washed excessively, it will easily cause dryness and scaling, leading to scabs and hard lumps on the skin. It is necessary to adjust the frequency of bathing, and do not wash too much, otherwise it will easily affect the recovery of the skin.

2. Trauma and infection

If the skin is injured and not treated in time, it may cause bacteria to breed and cause skin inflammation, accompanied by redness, swelling and pain. When the symptoms are severe, they may cause scabs on the skin. Antibiotic ointments can be used under the guidance of a doctor to improve the condition, which can control the growth of bacteria and help the local skin return to normal.

3. Mosquito bites

Usually caused by mosquito bites on the local skin, causing local skin damage, resulting in local swelling and scabs. Drink running water or soapy water to rinse. Then use antibiotic ointment as directed by your doctor.

4. Parasitic infection

It is a common infectious disease. After getting sick, parasites will accumulate in the intestines or outside the skin, and it will also cause infection on the skin. The condition, causing scabs and hard objects on the skin, needs to be improved by taking anthelmintics according to the doctor's advice, which can expel the drugs in the body and outside the body, which is conducive to the recovery of the body.
