Reproductive period

Proestrus (4 to 15 days)

Obvious stage. Usually the water gate (called a peach by dog owners) is somewhat swollen, and there is bleeding from colorless secretions. You may not notice the discharge, but under normal circumstances you will see blood, maybe just a little. Most female dogs love to be clean and will quickly lick the secretions off the water gate, so what you should pay attention to may be her licking action. In layman's terms, the tenth day of the Old English Sheepdog's estrus Three days is the best time for Gu Mu to mate. Usually, you can get pregnant once from the 13th day to the 15th day without any accident.

Normal period

A calm phase of varying lengths during which the female dog’s reproductive system is inactive. When a female dog mates with a male dog during the estrus period, the female dog will not change much within about 1 month. Usually, a veterinarian can diagnose whether the female dog is pregnant within 24 to 32 days. A female dog that is five to six weeks pregnant needs to eat more food, and the food intake will generally increase by about one-third to one-half. At this time, the female dog should be allowed to eat small amounts and frequently, because the developing fetus occupies a large space in the abdomen, and a large amount of food is required. Eating too much will cause the bitch’s belly to become overly distended. During this period, in order to promote the secretion of milk, the female dog must eat some high-quality protein, cheese, eggs, meat and supplement with some vitamins and minerals, and pay attention to calcium supplement.

Note: Male dogs cannot have undescended testicles on either side.
