Pet Knowledge
This article is provided by Veterinarian Dr. Daniel Miller
To prevent the cat from going to the table, the owner must first yell at the cat after it jumps on the table to let the cat know that this behavior is wrong. Secondly, if scolding the cat loudly does not work, the owner can give the cat some small punishment, such as hitting objects next to the cat, gently tapping the cat on the head with his hand, etc., and then give appropriate rewards after the cat gets off the table. Finally, you can also use double-sided tape, orange peels and other things cats hate to keep cats away from the table.

1. Scold loudly

If the owner finds that the cat has already got on the table or is about to jump on the table, the owner should immediately scold the cat loudly to let the cat know that this is not the place where it should come. As long as the cat jumps on the table With severe threats, over time the cat will know not to jump on the table.

2. Punish the cat

If the cat jumps on the table and the owner still refuses to get off the table even if the owner yells at it, the owner can hit the object next to the cat, or tap the cat gently with his hand. Give it some small disciplinary measures. If the cat is obedient and gets off the table, the owner should stroke its head or body in time and give appropriate rewards. After repeated training in this way, the cat's habit of going to the table can be changed.

3. Use tools

Because cats hate the feeling of being stuck and the smell of orange peels, the owner can consider sticking some double-sided tape around the table to prevent the cat from being stuck. After a few times it may not be on the table again. Secondly, you can consider placing a few pieces of orange peel on the surface of the table. Cats hate the smell and will naturally not come near it.
