1. Infectious diseases

If a dog is infected with canine distemper, parvovirus and other infectious diseases, in the middle and late stages, it may develop dry nose, thickened foot pads, excessive keratinization, Symptoms such as listlessness and loss of appetite. Especially for puppies that have not been vaccinated, it is recommended that the owner take them to the pet hospital for examination. The earlier the treatment, the higher the survival rate.

2. Severe lack of water

If the dog is exposed to the sun for a long time or does not drink water for a long time, the body will be dehydrated, which will lead to a dry and cracked nose. At this time, the owner needs to quickly take the dog to a cool and ventilated place to rest, and let the dog drink more water. The owner should also try to expose the dog to the sun as much as possible, especially in hot summer, to avoid heat stroke.

3. Fever

If the dog has a fever, it will also cause a dry and cracked nose, and will also be accompanied by symptoms such as increased body temperature, lack of energy, and loss of appetite. It is recommended that the owner measure the temperature of the dog. If the temperature exceeds 39.5 degrees, it means that the dog does have a fever, and the dog needs to be physically cooled down in time, or treated with pet-specific antipyretics.
