Dog poop has white particles

Pet Knowledge
This article is provided by Veterinarian Dr. Anna Lee
If your dog has white particles in his stool, it may be because he has eaten something that is not easy to digest, such as uncooked rice, bones, stone particles, etc. The dog cannot digest it, so he will excrete it directly. In addition, if the dog is accompanied by other abnormal symptoms, such as diarrhea, weight loss, vomiting, etc., it may be that the body is infected with parasites, and the white particles in the stool are parasite eggs. In this case, it is recommended that the owner take the dog to the pet hospital for examination first, and then target treatment after clarifying the specific cause.

1. Eating something that is not easy to digest

If your dog accidentally eats uncooked rice, bones, stone particles, etc., and it cannot be digested in the intestines and stomach, what will it look like after eating it? What will it look like when discharged? At this time, the owner can pay attention to observation. As long as the dog does not show other abnormal symptoms, there is no need to worry, and the dog can be managed more regularly.

2. Parasitic infection

If you find that your dog has white particles in the stool and is accompanied by diarrhea, it may be that the body is infected with tapeworms, and the tapeworms have reached adult stages. During this period, tapeworm segments will be excreted in the stool, which look like rice grains. If it is suspected that the dog has tapeworm infection, the owner can take the dog to the pet hospital for a fecal examination, and deworming will be carried out after the diagnosis is confirmed.
