At the suggestion of netizens, he contacted associate Professor Zou Jiexin of Nanchang University and sent the specimen to Nanchang. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Zou Jianxin, Zhang Yixuan further provided relevant information on the living environment and origin of this crab for laboratory research, and combined with genetic molecular detection, this crab was identified as a new species: Sinolithopotamon cirrolimus.This discovery led to the expansion of the genus from 3 to 5 species. With this new species, Guangxi's freshwater crab species exceeded Taiwan's 42 species with 43 species, becoming the second largest freshwater crab diversity in China after Yunnan.
