The main reasons why puppies vomit after taking anthelmintic drugs are due to overfeeding, greater stimulation of the anthelmintic drugs, and a sensitive gastrointestinal tract. If the puppy only vomits once or twice, it means that the puppy's clinical symptoms are relatively mild. It is most likely caused by the puppy's sensitive gastrointestinal tract. It will usually recover on its own, but the owner also needs to pay attention to observation. If the puppy vomits frequently, it needs to go to the pet hospital for treatment in time. The main consideration is the possibility of excessive drug irritation or drug poisoning caused by overfeeding.

1. Overfeeding

The dosage of deworming medicine needs to be determined according to the weight of the puppy. If the dosage of deworming medicine is too large, it will cause the puppy to have a toxic reaction. , and symptoms of vomiting appear. For the health of the puppy, it is recommended to take the puppy to the pet hospital for further processing and treatment in time, and it is necessary to bring deworming drugs for the puppy so that the pet doctor can make a clear diagnosis in time. If the puppy's poisoning symptoms are severe, it is likely to lead to death.

2. The anthelmintic drug is more irritating

If the anthelmintic drug is fed to the puppy according to the normal dosage, it will be very painful for the puppy to vomit after eating the anthelmintic drug. It may be that the anthelmintic itself is relatively irritating, which in turn irritates the puppy's gastrointestinal tract and induces vomiting. If the puppy's symptoms are mild, it usually takes a few days to rest. At the same time, for the health of puppies, it is not recommended that owners buy deworming drugs online and other channels, because pet owners do not understand the characteristics of deworming drugs and can easily buy irritating deworming drugs.

3. Sensitive gastrointestinal tracts

Some puppies have sensitive gastrointestinal tracts, and anthelmintics can easily cause gastrointestinal irritation, leading to vomiting and diarrhea. For vomiting caused by taking anthelmintic drugs, it is generally found that temporarily stopping feeding food and water after vomiting can be greatly improved. If it doesn't get better, you can take it to a pet hospital for an antiemetic injection.

Note: Generally, for puppies with sensitive stomachs or younger dogs, it is recommended to choose safe anthelmintic drugs as much as possible, or choose both internal and external deworming drugs. Repellent drops.
