The origin of the name Samoyed? Does the master know? In fact, the Samoyed is one of the oldest dog breeds in Japanese history, with its history dating back hundreds of years. The earliest recorded Samoyed in history was about 782 AD. The literature at that time mentioned "Samoyed", which is the general name of ancient Japanese dog breeds. Later, many different types of Samoyeds appeared in ancient Japanese texts, dating back hundreds of years. Samoyeds were originally bred as hunting dogs, but over time they became known and loved as house pets as well.
The reason why the Samoyed dog has such a name is that this kind of dog is a Siberian herder. It was domesticated by the Sama people, so it was named after them. At that time, pulling sleds and guarding reindeer were its main jobs.
The history and legends about the Samoyed dog (SAMOYED) began in the Iranian plateau: a long time ago, the powerful tribes drove the weak tribes to far away places. The expelled tribes walked north, across China, to the vast tundra between the White Sea and the Yeseni River. This was the Samoyed people, the earliest inhabitants of the Seyats.
Here, they have been living a nomadic life, herding reindeer. The Samoyeds bred dogs to help them herd reindeer, pull sleds, and as companions. Their dogs are today’s noble Samoyeds.
