What's wrong with my puppy's urine?

Pet Knowledge
Common causes of hematuria in dogs are cystitis, bladder stones, bladder polyps or tumors. Hemoglobinuria in dogs may be caused by hemolysis and other reasons. It is recommended that you take your dog to a pet hospital for a B-ultrasound examination to check for problems such as stones and polyps. If it is caused by bladder stones, you need to check the size of the stones. If the stones are relatively large, they need to be removed surgically. If there are no stones, insist on taking medication, especially Chinese patent medicines. Apart from the cause of the disease, it may also be food poisoning, or this condition occurs during estrus

1. Causes of symptoms: Urinary system diseases

The dog’s urinary system has lesions that cause hematuria. The first is caused by inflammation of the dog’s urethra and bladder. Bleeding caused by mucosal damage; the second type of dog already has stones in the bladder, and the stones continue to stimulate the bladder wall, causing hematuria; the third type of dog has tumors in the bladder, which we call bladder tumors. Tumors are usually bloody. The blood flow is relatively abundant, which may cause blood vessels to rupture due to friction, urine soaking, etc., resulting in bleeding in dogs.

2. Food poisoning

Onions, chocolate, green onions, garlic and other foods can cause food poisoning in dogs. If parents are not careful, dogs may accidentally eat the above foods due to gluttony. Therefore, parents must pay attention to the fact that these foods must not be eaten by dogs. In the mild cases, they will cause certain damage to the dog's body, and in severe cases, they will directly endanger the life and have irreparable effects.

3. Dogs in heat

During the process of heat, female dogs will secrete a large amount of bloody secretions mixed in the urine, which will cause the false appearance of blood in the dog's urine. If a male dog is frightened during mating or is forcibly separated, the corpus cavernosum will be damaged, resulting in blood in the urine. In these cases, owners should pay attention to the dog's condition and seek medical attention in time if the dog is not in good condition.
