Secondly, if the dandruff is caused by fungal infection, it is recommended to clean and disinfect the affected area and then apply antifungal drugs for treatment. Finally, if the dandruff is caused by improper diet, it is recommended to immediately adjust the cat’s diet to ensure balanced nutrition.

1. Dander caused by external parasite infection

If the cat has not been dewormed for a long time and is infected with external parasites such as fleas and mites, it will cause a large amount of dandruff on the body, and it will also cause Accompanied by symptoms such as itching and hair loss. If this is the case, you need to immediately deworm the cat externally and disinfect the environment where the cat lives. After disinfection, keep the environment clean, ventilated, and dry. At the same time, cats need to be dewormed regularly. Generally, internal deworming is done every three months and external deworming is done every month.

2. Dander caused by fungal infection

If a cat lives in a humid environment for a long time, or comes into contact with fungal-containing items or animals, it is easy for cats to become infected with fungi. Symptoms include skin itching, hair loss, skin scabs, and increased dandruff. The owner can use Wood's lamp to check. If the affected area shows fluorescent apple green when illuminated by Wood's lamp, it means that the cat has a fungal infection. At this time, it is necessary to remove the hair from the affected area and surrounding areas of the cat, and then apply antifungal medication. If the condition is severe, medicated shampoo may also be used for medicated bath treatment.

3. Dander caused by improper diet

If a cat eats a single food for a long time, causing the body to lack certain nutrients, dandruff will occur. At this time, it is recommended that the owner adjust the cat's diet structure in time and choose cat food with rich nutritional ingredients. In addition, you can also supplement your cat with nutrients such as fish oil, vitamin B, and fatty acids, which can also effectively improve the condition of excessive dandruff.
