The main causes of dog anus redness and swelling include anal gland inflammation, parasitic infection, anal inflammation caused by prolonged diarrhea, etc. First of all, if the anus is red and swollen due to inflammation of the anal glands, you need to squeeze out the anal glands first, and then give the dog anti-inflammatory drugs to treat it. Secondly, if the anal redness and swelling are caused by parasites, targeted internal deworming is required. Finally, if the anus is red and swollen due to diarrhea, you need to solve the diarrhea problem first and apply ointment to the affected area to relieve symptoms.

1. Anal gland inflammation

There is an anal gland in the dog’s anus. If the anal gland is not squeezed regularly, the dog will be very itchy and always want to rub on the ground, which will eventually lead to anal inflammation. Redness and swelling, affecting the dog’s defecation, etc. If not treated in time, severe anal ulcers may occur. 3. Anal inflammation caused by prolonged diarrhea
