If a kitten meows while eating, it may be because it feels happy after eating something delicious, or it may be because it is afraid that other cats and people will compete for its food, so it is protecting its food. If it is guarding food, the cry will be relatively low, and sometimes it will also be accompanied by a "wow" warning sound. At this time, the owner should not pet the kitten to prevent it from being scratched by the kitten. It is necessary to carry out reward and punishment training to correct the kitten's food-protecting behavior.

1. Happy

Cats cannot speak, so they will express their emotions through movements and sounds. When they eat something delicious, they will purr happily unconsciously. The sound indicates that it is happy. At this time, the owner can give a certain response and gently stroke it, which will help to build a closer relationship between the kitten and its owner.

2. Protecting food

If the kitten makes a growling sound, it may be that it is afraid that other cats or people will snatch its food, so it is protecting the food, thus making a growl. A low growl to warn others. At this time, it is recommended that the owner should not approach the cat until the cat has finished eating. Otherwise, the cat will quickly eat the food while guarding the food, which may easily lead to choking, choking, or indigestion.

In addition, reward and punishment training is needed to correct this behavior. First of all, the owner needs to make it clear to the cat that the owner will not snatch the cat’s food. It is recommended to call the cat's name every time, give food after receiving a response, and then stay with the cat. Secondly, after the cat is familiar with the owner eating with it, you can try to gently pet the cat while it eats, and the movements should be as small as possible.

During this process, if the cat makes a low growl, you can give a warning and take the food away quickly. Wait until it regains its composure before giving it food. Repeat the above actions and this behavior will gradually be corrected.
