If a cat's abdomen twitches, it may be that the cat is vomiting hair balls, or it may be caused by respiratory diseases, digestive system diseases, etc. If the cat's energy and appetite are fine, the owner does not need to worry too much. The cat may be vomiting hair balls. However, if the cat is accompanied by abnormalities such as listlessness and loss of appetite, the cause of the disease must be considered. It is recommended to take the cat to the pet hospital for examination in time to find out the cause and then provide targeted treatment.

1. Vomiting hair balls

Cats are very clean animals, so they often lick their hair. When they lick their hair, they will eat part of the hair into their stomachs. It causes gastrointestinal obstruction, but it is difficult to expel the hair balls at once, so the cat will have abdominal cramps and vomiting. In this regard, the owner can feed the cat some hair removal cream or cat grass appropriately to help the cat expel the hair from the body. After the cat spits out the hair ball, the situation will be improved.

2. Caused by respiratory diseases

When a cat suffers from respiratory diseases, causing symptoms such as coughing and wheezing, the contraction of the diaphragm will cause visual twitching of the abdomen. At the same time, cats may also suffer from listlessness, loss of appetite, sneezing, runny nose, etc. This situation is quite serious, so once the owner finds that the cat has the above symptoms, he needs to take the cat to the pet hospital for examination in time, and then provide symptomatic treatment according to the examination results.

3. Caused by digestive system diseases

When a cat suffers from digestive system diseases, causing vomiting, reflux, abdominal pain and other symptoms, the cat’s abdominal twitching will be very obvious. And the cat’s appetite and spirit will also be greatly affected. Therefore, at this time, it is necessary to first deprive the cat of food and water to avoid worsening of vomiting, and then send the cat to the pet hospital for examination in time to diagnose the cause and then provide symptomatic treatment.
