Cats with tail raised and meowing may be caused by reasons such as being in heat, being angry, or having their tail injured. First of all, when a female cat is in heat, she will raise her tail and keep barking to attract the male cat's attention. Secondly, when a cat is angry, it will erect its tail and hair, ready to attack at any time. Finally, when a cat’s tail is injured, the cat will also raise its tail to relieve the pain. The owner needs to pay attention to observe the cat's condition, understand the cat's mood, identify the reason why the cat keeps its tail raised and meowing, and then deal with the cause.

1. In heat

When a female cat is in heat, she will take the initiative to raise her tail and raise her butt to let the male cat get closer. At the same time, she will attract the attention of the male cat by meowing and urinating. . Therefore, if it is spring and the female cat is over six months old, then it is necessary to consider that the cat’s tail is raised due to estrus. It is recommended that the owner take the cat to breeding or undergo sterilization surgery. At the same time, doors and windows need to be closed to prevent female cats from jumping off buildings or running away from home because they are in heat and want to go out.

2. Angry

When a cat is angry, it will raise its tail and keep barking, and its hair will stand up to frighten the enemy. At this time, the cat may attack at any time, so it is recommended that the owner should not approach the cat easily, let alone touch the cat, to avoid accidental injury.

3. Tail injury

If a cat’s tail is injured, it will also relieve the pain by raising its tail and barking. In this regard, the owner can check whether there is a wound on the cat's tail and palpate it. If a wound is found, the wound needs to be disinfected and bandaged in time. If there is no wound but the cat meows when its tail is touched, it is very likely that there is a strain or soft tissue injury and a slight dislocation of the tail vertebra joint. You need to go to the pet hospital in time to take X-rays to confirm the diagnosis, and then provide targeted treatment. .
