Cats that are limping but able to walk may be caused by radioulnar dysplasia, falls, muscle strains, fractures, etc. If it is radioulnar dysplasia, it will affect the normal growth of the bones and cause abnormal walking. This is a normal phenomenon and usually there is no need to worry too much. If there are other uncomfortable symptoms in the body, such as skin redness, swelling, pain, limited movement, etc., it means that the body is suffering from other diseases. It is recommended to go to a regular pet hospital to find out the cause and further treatment.

1. Radial and ulnar dysplasia

Mainly caused by chromosomal abnormalities, which will affect the development of the radius and ulna, cause bone deformation, and also affect normal walking, resulting in a limp. However, it does not If pain occurs, you need to adjust your eating habits and eat more foods with high nutritional value, such as canned cats, bones, etc. You also need to reduce the amount of exercise. Generally, no medication is needed.

2. Falls

If a cat falls while walking or running, it will cause local bone damage, bone swelling and pain, and difficulty in walking. There will also be a limp during the period, and you need to follow the doctor's advice and take blood-activating and pain-relieving drugs for treatment.

3. Muscle strain

If a muscle is strained, it will cause limited movement and stagger when walking. It is recommended that the owner give the cat a cold compress in time. As well as hot compresses, you also need to take blood-activating drugs as directed by your doctor for improvement.

4. Fractures

It may be caused by long-term strenuous exercise, which can lead to bone damage, bone deformities and abnormal activities, affecting normal walking. It must be done under the guidance of a doctor. Reduction, bone traction, surgery and other methods can improve the condition.
