Owners can make their dogs drink more water by increasing their dog's amount of exercise, changing the palatability of water, increasing the water content of food, placing more water bowls at home, and changing their dogs' clean water every day. But at the same time, owners should also note that drinking water can maintain the dog's normal metabolism and is good for its body, but excessive water intake may also cause a burden on the dog's body.

1. Increase the amount of exercise for dogs

In daily life, owners can take their dogs out to play and run more often, or they can interact with their dogs and play games in their spare time. When you are tired, you will drink a lot of water to achieve the purpose of drinking more water.

2. Change the palatability of water

Dogs will prefer water with flavor, so owners can make some bone soup or broth for dogs. You can also replenish water after drinking it. You need to be careful not to add salt. It is best to remove the upper layer of oil before feeding it to the dog, otherwise it will easily increase the burden on the dog’s gastrointestinal tract.

3. Increase the water content of food

If the dog has a good appetite, the owner can feed the dog some wet food or canned food, and also feed the dog some food with high water content. Vegetables and fruits, such as radishes, pumpkins, watermelons, etc., but remember to feed them sparingly, otherwise you will easily get diarrhea if you eat too much.

4. Put more water bowls at home

You can usually put a few more bowls filled with water at home, so that dogs can drink water at any time.

5. Change the dog’s clean water every day

The dog’s nose is very sensitive, and if the water is not clean, it will not drink. Therefore, owners need to clean the dog’s drinking bowl regularly and change the drinking water at any time to avoid bacterial growth.
