Dead leaf turtles very much need to bask in the sun. Set up a basking platform in their container where they can bask in the sun or rest. Mainly, exposure to sunlight can promote their absorption of calcium and vitamins and reduce the occurrence of humps and rickets. However, you must prepare a hiding place for them when basking in the sun. When the light and heat are too strong, the turtle will feel the need for a place to hide and enjoy the shade.

Dead leaf turtles generally grow in lakes and crawl very slowly. Although they are completely aquatic animals, they are water-based.
