The main cause of lipomas in dogs is slowed metabolism and improper diet. First of all, older and obese dogs are prone to lipomas due to skin aging and digestive system decline, especially dogs of Labrador, Doberman, Schnauzer and other breeds, because the fat in their bodies will A little more than other dogs, so once there is a problem with metabolism, lipoma is easy to appear. Secondly, dogs that eat too much meat or mainly eat meat are also prone to lipoma. Therefore, owners must pay attention to their dogs’ dietary health to prevent their dogs from developing lipomas due to obesity.

1. Metabolism slows down

Lipoma is the result of excessive proliferation of fat cells. As the dog ages, the metabolic efficiency of the dog will slow down, making it impossible to maintain the balance of skin fat, resulting in Lipoma formation. In addition, dogs of Labrador, Doberman, Schnauzer and other breeds have more body fat than other dogs. Once there is a problem with metabolism, lipomas are also prone to occur. Therefore, if it is a dog of these breeds, the owner must pay more attention to its physical condition.

2. Improper diet

If the owner feeds the dog too much meat for a long time, it will easily cause excessive fat accumulation in local body parts and cause fat. tumors, and dogs will also become obese. In addition, dogs who are obese will develop many diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, pancreatic disease, etc. Therefore, owners must pay attention to the dog's balanced diet. Note: Lipomas are divided into benign lipomas and malignant lipomas. If your dog has a benign lipoma and the growth location does not affect its activities, you don’t need to worry about it. But if it is malignant lipoma, you need to go to a regular pet hospital for surgical treatment in time.
