1. Crab shells are very brittle and hard, and will become very sharp after a dog bites them. When a dog swallows it, it is likely to scratch its mouth, esophagus and intestines, causing bleeding. If it cannot be digested, it will also cause anorexia and malnutrition in dogs, so it is recommended that owners do not give crab shells to dogs.

2. Because crab shells are not nutritious, there is no benefit to giving crab shells to dogs.
