Dogs can eat apples, but they need to be fed in moderation. Because apples contain a large amount of vitamins and trace elements, they can effectively supplement the nutrients needed by the dog's body. However, if you feed your dog apples every day, it may cause symptoms such as indigestion and diarrhea. Moreover, apple cores are not edible. Apple cores contain cyanide, which may cause poisoning to dogs if ingested. Therefore, do not feed apples to your dog every day. You can feed them two to three times a week.

1. Benefits of eating apples

Apples are warm fruits and are rich in water, vitamins, and dietary fiber. They can not only promote intestinal peristalsis, but also supplement vitamins and trace elements. It has great benefits for dogs, but remember to remove the core of the apple to prevent your dog from accidentally eating it and getting poisoned. In addition to apples, you can also feed some protein-containing foods every day, especially for puppies, which can help the growth of the body.

2. Disadvantages of eating apples

1. Because apple cores contain toxic ingredients, dogs may be poisoned if they eat them. Therefore, you must clean the core before feeding apples. Once your dog develops a poisoning reaction after swallowing the whole apple, you must go to a nearby pet hospital for timely treatment.

2. Because some dogs have poor gastrointestinal function, especially puppies, they may have soft stools or diarrhea after eating. Therefore, you must not give your dog too many apples at one time. It is recommended to feed them two to three times a week.

3. Because some dogs eat too fast, if they swallow larger apple pulp directly, it can easily get stuck in the throat, causing esophageal damage or even suffocation. Therefore, it is recommended that the owner remove the apple pulp. Chop it into pieces before feeding it to your dog.
